Hey guys,
I have a user who upon receiving an e-mail with an embedded picture, the picture does not show up in the message. She gets the boxes with the red "x" in them. Now when she either goes to forward or responds to the message that's when the picture is viewable. The security settings are set to download pictures in e-mail, so that was the first thing I checked. The user stated that she was able to view them up until about a month ago, then without making any changes (so she says) she was suddenly unable to view the photo content in the e-mail message. The other settings are to view as HTML, not rich or plain text. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Have you tried switching to plain text and then back to HTML? Also, check here IE settings (Tools/Options Zone Settings...) to make sure that she hasn't inadvertently bumped her security settings up.

I have the solution, but cannot find the folder. Outlkook by default installs a folder named OLK78. You will see it from time to time upon saving a document. The default location should be local settings\temporary internet files. But of course when I look there, it's no where to be found. I did a search on the PC and the results came back with nothing. Show hidden folders is enabled as well. Anyone??

Hmmm... This one has me stumped.
I have dug into the registry and looked but not found anything.
I did, however, find this but I am not a member.

This seems to be similar to your problem. Do we have anyone that is a member?

Okay, of course the folder is maybe just my imagination. I was able to resolve the issue by deleting a key in the registry. HKCU\Software\Microsoft\O ffice\11.0\Outlook\Security. I then deleted the OutlookSecureTempFolder and all is well. WHEW!!! That one was a brain burner... thanks again for all your help!!!

I know a lot of interesting softwares in the Internet, which restore emails. But one of them interested me and I downloaded it - outlook 2002 pst repair. To my surprise it resolved my old unpleasant problem with corrupted emails for short time and completely free of cost as far as I remembered. Besides the application helped some of my friends too.

Wow... you register in '07, and then post in '10 in a thread started in '07?
Oh, and ScanPST works to fix broken PST files, too... and it's included with Outlook.

Now Dood, don't be too critical of Alex's response time. I'm leaning toward thinking he's one of those guys that carefully measures & considers his comments. You know, so as to not rush into it.

Wow Dood. You know comments like that might scare him off again. We could use a little more activity around here.

Sorry, sorry... I was in a poor mood... You're right, I should be happy that somebody posted, even if it smells a bit like an advertisement.
Recoverytoolbox.com is registered to Olga Krenvalk. Perhaps some relative of Alex's?

It looks as if he was keyword fishing Google for forum threads discussing Outlook problems that the family business could make some money from.
I'd have to side with Dood on this one, he registered three years ago, this is his first post since 2007 and then he posted in a three year old thread in which it's subject matter happens to be related to a website registered to somebody with the exact same uncommon last name?
I've mentioned my sister's used book business on this site several times in the past but I've always been upfront about it, usually prefaced by a (shameless plug) or something similar.

Seems odd that he would wait 3 years to respond with the "answer" to his question.

Maybe he's still on AOL dial-up? Their lag time is atrocious. All he's really doing is trolling for business.
